Update for Catching Elephant Theme
I’ve been working on an update for the Catching Elephant Theme. I just need to test it in some of the lesser browsers. So if anyone has a PC and they could send me some screenshots in IE that’d be rad. Once I’ve done that I’ll submit the update to the Theme Garden. Lightbox for high res images I’m using Fancybox to display high res images as an overlay. Although it...

Pirate Radio Documentary Matt Mason teamed up with VICE/Palladium to shoot a short documentary on the current state of pirate radio in London (with an excursion to an old sea fort). Lots of climbing on roofs, setting up bootleg electronics in parking garages, loud music, and running away from radio cops. Nice work. Great little docco. Take 10min and watch it. via Alex Carpenter

Teal and Orange - Hollywood, Please Stop the... →
Those of you who watch a lot of Hollywood movies may have noticed a certain trend that has consumed the industry in the last few years.  It is one of the most insidious and heinous practices that has ever overwhelmed the industry.  Am I talking about the lack of good scripts?  Do I speak of the dependency of a few mega-blockbuster hits to save the studios each year, or of the endless sequels and...

Logorama This is a short film that was directed by the French animation collective H5, François Alaux, Hervé de Crécy + Ludovic Houplain. It was presented at the Cannes Film Festival 2009. It opened the 2010 Sundance Film Festival and won a 2010 academy award under the category of animated short. First four minutes are really cool, but not much happens, then the story starts. Stick it out....

Spencer to Flinders I’m basically just posting this to see what Tumblr’s new native video uploading is like. But it’s a movie I shot on my train ride to work a while ago.

Wired Reread →
If you haven’t seen this yet, check it out. Pretty funny, but not quite as good as actually reading old Wired issues and taking the piss out of them yourself. I love Wired. The other day, I was re-reading some of the old back-issues of Wired I have. Flipping through the pages, looking at the old ads and articles, I realized how much you can learn from exploring these pages from the...

State of the Internet by Jess3 Matthew Buchanan: A motion type presentation by the Jess3 agency of mostly mind-blowing statistics from the big social networks during 2009. Facebook’s stats are the most mind blowing. Imagine how many people would use it if it were actually good.

Live preview for Tumblr theming
In response to my comment about a live preview for Tumblr theming, Max Wheeler said: Hells yes. I await this bundle with bated breath. Though, as Andy mentions: “What I’d LOVE is to be able to see an example of what that is without copying and pasting the code into Tumblr”. The hassle of the copy-paste-preview workflow is one of the things that stop me building more themes for Tumblr. Max —...

jmob asked: I like your theme but it is a little wonky. Right now, previews with embedded flash players don't work. also tags are rendered weird as well. Finally, how do you add links on the sidebar that look like the big menu items?

here is were it all goes to hell:
